Understandably, the matter of fees is of utmost importance to our clients. When attorneys refer their clients to us, they want to understand and be able to explain our fees to their clients as well. We do not sell or "push" financial products as part of our financial analyses. Rather, our fees are based on hourly charges for all time devoted to the project at the applicable hourly rates for each of our professionals. These rates are as follows:
We do request payment of a retainer at the outset of our engagement, and accept VISA and Mastercard. We seek to render our services at the highest level of effectiveness, as well as in the most cost- efficient manner for our clients. We send our clients a monthly statement that reflects detailed descriptions of the services we have provided. At the outset of an engagement, we make every effort to estimate the needs of our client and the amount of time that may be required to complete our work. We recognize that, especially in the time of transition that comes with a divorce, it can be very reassuring to have a sense of the costs up front. At the same time, we ask our clients to understand that, if a case takes an unexpected turn, additional work beyond that initial cost estimate may be required. We discuss the need for this additional work with our clients. We work as a team with our clients and their attorneys to help our clients set goals for their long term financial security that are appropriate for them. We then focus our efforts on achieving those goals, despite the obstacles or chaos that frequently emerge during the negotiation or litigation experience. Our work is distinguished by our skill and expertise in navigating troubled waters. |
Joslyn's bi-weekly column, CONVERSATIONS, explores a variety of issues which drive our financial choices.
