One of my favorite parables, which I first heard as a child, is a story about putting one's money to work. The moral is to start with what you have, and seek to make it grow. Sound like investing? The story concludes with a caution that avoiding action — due to fear of making a mistake — is a failed strategy.

I feel very fortunate that 'constant improvement' — read that as investing - has been a way of life for me. The study of piano when growing up helped me develop a strong sense of discipline. Choosing to engage in fitness swimming when in undergraduate school, and continuing faithfully to complete my two miles per week thereafter, nurtured consistency. Teaching music to hundreds of children annually for the first two decades of my career honed my ability to be patient, and persistent with respect to what we planned to achieve - despite the inevitable obstacles along the way.

Today, I articulate my proven investing skills to clients, as we seek to put their money to work. Sensible investing — supported by a personalized financial strategy — is what we do best. We have a strong commitment to help women be prepared because, as the bumper sticker says, "A Man Is Not A Financial Plan." We at Entrust are proud to have helped clients successfully navigate some very negative financial markets since 2000.

To help a broader audience experience the results they want with their money, this is my fourth year of writing the bi-weekly Business Column, CONVERSATIONS, for Main Line Suburban Life newspaper. I have appeared numerous times on local consumer-focused financial shows, and present to audiences of professionals on a wide variety of subjects such as investing and asset allocation, retirement and estate planning, the long-term impact of property settlements in divorce, and charitable giving.

I serve as Executive Director of Collaborative Family Law Affiliates, Treasurer of The Print Center, President of The Valley Forge Towers Community Association, and serve on the Board of Directors of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce. I am a member of the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts, The Financial Services Institute, The Philadelphia Foundation's Professional Advisors Network, The Planned Giving Advisory Council for Temple University, and The Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. I am a past officer of the Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, and the Ardmore Club of Rotary International.
